I use Fram Filters all the time. I always get the 'tough guard' filter. It costs a little more, but worth it.I have a 1988 Chev. Celebrity Wagon with 186,000 miles on it and a 1994 Plymouth Grand Voyager with 173,000 miles. Both engines run great and no smoke.I don't even have to replace oil between changes at every 3000 miles.

I've never had a problem with a Fram oil filter (or ANY oil filter). Though I have heard some complaints that their gaskets tend to stick.
