Is it possible that females can attack another female that has a different fin? I'm pretty sure that my 2 females have spade tails and my other one is a crowntail.

I've put them in at the same time. The 2 spade females gang up on the other one. I have hiding spots, plants, conditioned.. EVERYTHING...

I think I just have a flashy crowntail. Because it will challenge the dominate spade female. But she isn't hurt....

I don't know that the fin has anything to do with it, but female bettas can be somewhat aggressive. If they're kept in a group, they'll sometimes flare and nip at each other, but not to the degree that two males will. They should develop a "pecking order" so there's a dominant fish, and all the others will have a place beneath her. If you have the room in the tank, adding two more will help spread out the aggression they show toward each other.

The aggression in males is even based on their colors. The red ones are the most aggressive, followed by blue, and white/colorless is the least aggressive. I don't know if this holds true for females as much, but if the one being picked on is white, that may be an explanation.

Occasionally, you'll get a female that's very aggressive and will pick on all the others so much it will have to be kept alone. They seem to be most aggressive if they are crowded.

If you just got these recently, I'd just keep and eye on them to make sure there's no real damage being done. They may still be working things out to see who will be top fish in the tank, and things may settle down in a few days.

i have a group of 5 female bettas who i added all at the same time. at first they were taking chunks out of each others tail fins and that was for like a month now they have settled down a lot and fins have healed. i would also suggest adding in a couple of more females to the group making sure that they are all mostly the same size. the little guy will get picked on. i ahve also seen some bullying and my friend did have one of her female bettas killed by the others. i do not know what makes them do this, but if it has been a couple weeks and nothing has changed then you should put the beat up one in her own tank. i also do not know if it has anything to do with colors or type of fins. my all purple gal is my alpha and she is smaller than the other reds and a blue. although it is my white who is the most timid and picked on which is weird t hear that someone else had a prob with their white. i think it is more a temperment thing, but you can be the judge of that by just watching them.
