You have to consider what teams could win for him over long periods of time. Based on that you have to take Santana, Hughes, and Sabathia who are on teams tha will score runs for them and most likely keep them for a while.

Hamels, I don't think Willis or Sabathia will do to their injuries, who knows Lincecum just came up Hernandez injury prone, Hughes hasn't done anything yet, Bailey hasn't done anything etc..... Right now more then likely Hamels has the best chance. I think Zito has a chance too if he stays healthy because lefties normally last a while and he never misses his starts. Otherwise I have really no idea on who has the best chance to get to 300.

The way the game of baseball is played today, I doubt you will ever see another 300 game winner other than the few closing in on that mark (Tom Glavine, Randy Johnson). After all, a pitcher has to win atleast 20 games for fifteen seasons to reach that goal. Most pitchers now a days, don't pitch 10, let alone 15 years. Even if you have a pitcher that pitches that long, he must be very consistent to win 20 games every year. That pitcher, in turn, must be on a very consistent team. That just doesn't happen in today's world where you have free agency and trades. The ones you mention do have promising careers, but I honestly don't think any of them has the stamina, team, luck, etc., that it takes to win 300 games. After all, there are only 21 pitchers in major league history (a little over 100 years) to win 300 games or more.

When you're talking about 300 wins, you're looking for two major things: longevity and run support.

Since pitchers with big fastballs tend to get hurt more, keep an eye out for someone with other pitches. Brandon Webb is a great example of a guy who will probably be around for a long time, since he doesn't throw pitches that tend to wear down the body too quickly.

What Webb doesn't have is a single decent bat on his team, meaning he'll have a lot of days when he's rock solid and still take a loss. A minimal number of quality starts resulting in losses will go a long way to that magic win plateau. Free agency will play a part here, since the days of a player spending his whole career with one team are long gone. Chien-Ming Wang is an ideal top-of-the-rotation guy who will get super run support for years to come.

In all, I'd go with Dontrelle Willis. He'll always be tough to read, and has some nasty stuff to boot. The Marlins' offense may come and go, but Willis won't be there forever since they never re-sign their free agents, and whatever big-budget club he joins later will be able to inflate his win totals.

There will never be another 300 game winner. The only guy that has a chance is Tom Glavine. The way these pitcher pitch now you would have to win an average of 20 games in a span of 15 years. That will never happen.

Wow... human beings please do somewhat analyze! of direction it became right into a powerful theory to spend the money, as that lots skills (and the opportunities of a set with that lots skills) will stress up the merchandising cost. in addition to, Lilly is a rock. he's a incredible veteran who eats up innings or maybe with being a million-a million, could be 2-0. Now residing in the national League, he will proceed to excel against communities who do not container a watered down murderer's Row, like the communities in the AL do. he will easilly win 12 or extra video games this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days in the event that they are efficient for him. Soriano strikes out too lots, yet he makes up for that with runs and ribbies. as quickly as he's on base, he's often attainable to attain. between the made over pitching workforce, created from good and examined hands, which includes Dempster (who i think of will very own this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days), and a slugging lineup, i think of the Cubs have enormously much as good a wager as any NL group to symbolize the league in the sequence. by ability of how, i'm a Yankees fan. i'm not inspired by ability of the Cubs spending money. i'm inspired with what they have been given for their money. Very, very staggering and intimidating group.

I'm going to say Sabathia, not just because I'm an Indians fan but because he does. He's been pitching for 7 years now,is only 26 and has 86 carrer wins. The only pitcher his age or younger thats even close to that is Zambrano, with 67.19 wins seperate them. And Sabathia is only getting better.J.Santana has a distant shot too.
