Ok so...
I know someone who is having a spinal fusion after having the same bulging disc repaired twice within 3 months of eachother.
I don't know anyone who has had it so I'm looking for people who have...

Any stories, advice or...anything?
Try not to give me all bad, horrible stories...
I'd like to stay optimistic and positive!

I would mucho appreciate it.

It's going to be L5 S1 fused to another disk.

My step dad had spinal fusion, I think they fused four of his vertebre. He had pre-existing medical conditions that hindered the surgical team and his recovery so I can't give you anything useful other than that the surgery went well and it's not all that uncommon nowadays.

Good luck!

My husband had a SF in April 05. It was somewhere around his L5. He kept losing the feeling in his legs.
Anyway, he had surgery and it was a rough recovery. He spent 1 week in the hospital. He was VERY medicated. Both of us are War Vets with PTSD and his surgery brought on the PTSD even more.
Make sure your friend gets physical therapy and gets their vitamins. Glucosamine is great though ask the doc when you can start to take them. Your friend will need someone to take care of them for a while. Help out as much as you can. Staying over would be the best(cook, clean etc.)
Good luck
