I'm from the hood and I listen to rap and I clearly see how not only does rap affect how we talk and think, it affects how we act. The only reason why Ni***s in my hood use the word ni**a today is because of rap music. If you remember in the 1970's and 1980's, blacks didn't use it as much as they do today. Rappers made it seem cool to sell drugs, be tough, sex mad females and even call women bi***s and hoes and say "Ni**a" so what the hell are you talking about when you say rap hasen't had a detrimental effect on our community particularly? Yes crime existed before, but rappers are not just rapping about what they see. There is positive in the hood and they could focus on that but instead they CHOSE to rap about violence and negativity which has had a horrible effect especially on black youth. I'm a black youth and I can see that a lot of rappers are the role models for the youth so why are you in denial about it? 50 cent start talking about P 90 Rugers and catching "jukes", cats in the hood follow and glorify it so what are you saying?
