Well, all solid metals are an excellent conductor of heat. However, there is one metal that is liquid and liquids metals are very poor conductors of heat. That metal is mercury.

Steel is a very poor heat conductor compared to say, cast iron...
Just look at materials used in building construction. They need to be heat resistant in case of fires etc.
