Oh boy, here's a name I was NEVER fond of. Luckily, I think of Reese and Ryan's child who is absolutely precious and so it has grown on me.

Deacon is a title. Not a name.

It is okay, church comes to mind, but I guess if he becomes a deacon, he wouldn't have to worry about the name issue.
Hope this helps!!
Good Luck!!!

I think of either Doug's best friend on King of Queens, or of the Deacon of a church.

I like it, it sounds kind of preppy. I would go with a name like Deacon James so people could call him DJ.

I've never really been a fan of profession/word names.
Whenever I meet someone with a profession/word name I associate them with the meaning of that word. In this case it would be a member of the clergy lower than a priest.
So, I'd really only go with this if you're really religious.

He'd be nicknamed "Deke" (or "Deac") which rhymes with "Zeke" which sounds like a hillbilly name. I don't see anything cool about it.
