This is where common sense comes in. The guns are not the problem, it's the people behind the guns and their bad attitudes. Until people work to bring their children up with the right attitude and in God-fearing homes, this world is going to continue to spiral downward. Kids are not taught to respect others, especially authority figures, and it shows every day with all the crime and dishonesty displayed. 200 years ago most all homes had guns but there was also discipline and respect for others. Change the attitudes and we won't have to worry about who has a gun. Even the countries with gun control have problems in other ways so that shows.... it's the people, not the weapon.

"No way. The lobbyist for the National Rifle Association is very powerful. In their beginning they were organized by hunters, but they have been over taken now with a criminal element."
Starflower, what exactly is your source for this? And by the way, the NRA might be the largest gun lobby organization, but it's by no means the most influential.
And since when has the Second Amendment been about hunting?

I do not favor the ownership of guns, but I believe that if guns were outlawed in the USA, then only outlaws would own guns. So I prefer to have the right to owned guns, but only individuals with a clean record.

You used the personal pronoun "I" which tells me you are very self centered and selfish.
No "you" can not personally rid us of firearms. If the American people want to rid themselves of firearms they can amend the Constitution. That is the only way but "you" can not do it by yourself.
Somehow I think this is way over your punity little self serving head.

NO! The wise founding fathers gave us the right to bear arms. Check statistics. You will find crime rates are higher where gun laws are stricter.

If you removed all guns, people would just stab each other and set each other on fire, poison each other, bomb each other...
strangle each other... (are you going to outlaw ROPE too?)
I think we need to address the source. Why do people want to kill? Because there are so many ways to effectively kill someone, I don't think removing guns will cure it unless you address why the desire to kill is there to begin with.

Americans are obviously not advanced enough to live without ubiquitous weapons of immediate death.
