can we get sick from fish? like ick?

Fish can transmit some diseases to humans, but ich isn't one of them. Others like fish tuberculosis, some types of bacterial conditions causing ulcers and fin rot, and the protozoan Cryptosporidium (plus a few others) can be transmitted from freshwater tanks and/or fish, but it's not a common occurrence. Still, it you're a person with a compromised immune system, it would be a good idea to wear long aquarium gloves when doing tank maintenance (or have someone do the work for you).

Not ich nope. There are a few things that can pass fro fish to human and most of them only if you eat the fish. The main exception to the rule that every aquarium keeper should be aware of is Fish Tuberculosis
