My ex put it this way... "It's difficult to define a body that's always in motion. Every time you move, you get a new layer."
I think it's a control thing... on both people's parts. What I called 'independent', he called 'running away', 'lack of trust', and 'emotional desertion'. Perspective is everything. Mine is still rather blurred.

I believe that this is as Scarlett said, insecurities.
Many of us want to feel needed and wanted. We want to feel as though we are making a difference in someones life, that the time we are spending is appreciated.
However, there is another side to this coin as there is to everything considering we live in duality. Many people wish to have some sort of control over us. To these people we are not being independent we are insulting them. Often times a truly free soul is to much for some people to handle, so they seek to chain us to them selves, the floor or the walls the try to build around us.

I'm not. For instance, my girlfriend is extremely strong and independent, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Who wants to be around spineless people with no self-esteem? People who are afraid of the independence of others probably have serious psychological issues of their own, and may also be co-dependent.

Because there are people on this plane that have absolutely no common sense or use of brain function... on top of that they are scared and may feel threatened by that because they see that, the other person can survive but they can't.... Its really jealousy...

Because some people think they can exert control, and the fear what they think is their inability to control someone who's independent.

you mean like me? eh he he he. they know I'm out of the influence of others. they know I can't be swayed like a little sheep following the herd. I'm a big person, I'm an independent thinker, and to them there's nothing scarier then someone with my talent to be out of their control.

It's not really that they are threatened by it, but the fact that their insecurities are making them feel inadequate.
