My son cut his first two teeth the week he turned 7 months old. They came in at the same time. Around 10 months he cut his next 3 and the 6th came a week later.
He is now 11 months old and his 7th just broke through. This was the first one that didn't seem to bother him much.
My doctor said not to mess with Orajel-it is quickly washed off by the saliva. Tylenol didn't seem to help the pain at all and our sweet and calm baby transformed into something from the nether world.
A friend suggested Hyland's Teething Tablets and *angelic music playing* they worked better than I can say. They are homeopathic so no side affects. They helped the pain and he was able to sleep right after. The tablets dissolve instantly in the mouth. I tried one and it didn't taste bad at all.
We also put damp rags in the freezer and then let him chew on them.
Best of luck!!

Yes - she could definitely be having more than one tooth coming in. It might seem like they are all coming in at the same time, but may end up more like one after the other. Everyone thought that my daugther was teething when she was 4 months old and chewing on her fingers and crying. This would happen on and off for months - but no teeth. She actually got her first two teeth (top) at the same time when she was 9 months. A month later, two corner teeth (bottom) came out - but luckily there was no fuss during the teething process. You might want to consider that something else might be making her cry at night - gas or indigestion? Especially if she's screaming. Have you tried gas relief drops? The only thing I can think of is tylenol before she sleeps if the teething is making her cry. If that doesn't work - then it could be gas. Try giving gas relief drops or gripe water when you give her the last bottle before she sleeps. For my daughter (2.5 yrs now) and my now 9 month son - this has worked wonders. I've found that nighttime wakings and crying is almost always because of gas (except when they have colds/ cough).

Oh yes it is possible to have more than one come in at once. A dear friend of mines daughter had 7 teeth coming in all at the same time. She had 4 on the bottom and three on top. My own daughter woke up one day and had all four of her 2 year molars. The poor thing right now has all four of her four year molars getting ready to come in too.
I was never very good at noticing the teeth coming in. Everyone said that the gums will look kind of white-ish but I could never tell until they were breaking through. now with these molars I can definately tell they are getting ready to come in. I could see three of them coming in then just last night I had a look in her mouth and the forth is also getting ready to come in. Fortunately, the back molars don't seem to hurt like the baby teeth did.
orajel only ticked my daughter off more than the teething. I found that baby motrin or ibuprofen helped with the pain better than Tylenol. Also there is a product on the market called Hylands teething tablets. They are tiny little pills that disolve almost instantly as soon as they hit the tongue. My daughter loved them The first time I had given them to her she had been screaming for about 30 minutes, mad as a hornet. I tried to give her ibuprofen but she refused it and spit it out (she was almost 12 months before she got her first teeth). She screamed and I tossed in one of those teething tablets and she got quiet and wanted more. I gave her a couple more and in about ten minutes she was asleep. I never had a problem with her taking them. She often asked for them even if she didn't need them. Also I gave my daughter frozen blueberries. They are not rock hard when frozen and give just enough resistance to stimulate the gums. The frozen berries seemed to help with the pain and blueberries are very good for them. Some people suggested frozen grapes but my daughter would have chocked on those as she often would swallow food whole rather than chew it. Blueberries are just the right size. To this day my daughters favorite snack is frozen blueberries.

Oh honey unfortunetly for you it is completely possible! My son is getting his tetth 2 at a time every time. There isn't much you can do for the waking up besides giving her the baby Tylenol right before she goes to bed. For during the day I would get some of those mesh bag things that are meant for fruit and veggies and fill it full of ice. It seems to be the only thing that helps my son when he is hurting really bad form teething. I have tried the orajel and teething tablets and those didn't work for us. I know your tired and it stresses you out to hear her crying and upset but you just have to have patience. Good luck with everything!

ask your pharmacist, there's something better than oral gel but the name escapes me at the moment. also, try Advil or Motrin instead of Tylenol. The ingredients in Motrin and Advil are better for inflammation and pain than Tylenol. I'm a nurse and I HATE Tylenol. for reasons to numerous to name here.
put your teething rings in the freezer, but now that a tooth is poking through, you need to be sure all that's in them is water. also, I used to soak wash clothes ring them out , put in a zip lock and then freeze. I would give her some children's Motrin right before you give her a drink at bedtime. It might get her through the night.
I have raised 3 kids and several grand kids , some are worse with teething than others, just like people have different levels of pain tolerance. Sorry you're having a tough time. It's as hard on the mom as it is the little one. Good luck!

Sadly there isnt much else to do sweety. Teething is terrible and it will break your heart at times. More than one coming in at once is normal. IT breaks your heart but the things you have tried are pretty much the only things you can do. I do know one thing a lot of mothers dont try that I did. It made my sons teething go a bit easier and helped those teeth come through as quickly as possible and the cold was nice for his gums. They have this food net thing. I cant really explain it well. Its like a net that they can hold. You can put things liek frozen peaches and such in them. I would slice a fresh peach and freeze the slices sepreatly in a zip lock bag. If he got in too much pain after everythign I tried didnt work..Id grab a slice and throw it into the net and hed chew and chew and be happy for the time that it took him to chew it. The peaches do come out and they eat them..but the netting causes the fruit to come out in teeny tiny lil pieces so they can be eaten..its a nice ay to give your child fresh fruits and veggies as well any time. I Found the website I found it at its called the fresh food feeder by munchkin. I will leave a link below. Hope this helps.

Oh, do I feel your pain. My 14mo. old has had the WORST time cutting teeth. She cut her two bottom like your little one around 8 months, then, nothing. Finally at 12-1/2 mo. She cut both of her top teeth at once and right after it, she cut the top one next to her two front ones. Now the other top one is coming in. She was miserable! Low grade temp, diaper rash, wakeful, screaming at night. I even took her in to get her ears checked because she would scream and cry while rubbing her ears. Her ears were fine. I give her Motrin, it's the only think that works for her. Check with your Dr. and see if you can give it, if so, try it. I hope she feels better! So the answer to your question is yes, they can cut two teeth at once.

Teething is so hard! You feel so helpless. I know, I have twins and it has been very hard! We used the freeze pops. We froze them and let them chew on them. They don't get too hard and the coolness easied their discomfort. Also, Tylenol and Ibuprophen every four hours when it is really bad. Ibuprophen helps reduce the inflamation related to teething so it can help a lot! You don't want to see them in any more pain than you have to. My girls always get them at least two at a time. Usually 1-3 days apart. My son also got several teeth at a time so I think it is the norm. Good Luck and hang in there, they grow so fast and will have a full set before you know it!

Yes babies can have more than one tooth come in at one time.
What worked for my kids was to give them ice pops or even ice cubes. Make sure they are large cubes, so baby doesn't choke.
We took a pot from the cabinet and put lots of ice cubes in it and then let my son sit on the floor and pick up a cube put it in his mouth and then drop it back in and get another. We had very few sleepless nights due to teething. I think the reason is there is a point in your hand between the thumb and first finger that when numbed by ice will numb the gums. So letting baby play with the ice and suck on it numbs the mouth and the hand which eases the pain. The swelling is what makes the gums throb so reducing swelling reduces pain.
Hope it helps!

Yes one or more teeth can come through at the same time. The teething rings that can be put in the freezer may help, also bonjela is a good remedy used in the UK. A little rubbed on the gums soothes, and it tastes ok too.
