That is the root problem: Bush supporters prefer NOT to think.

That's a poignant comparison. Well, it's hard to say, in the fog of war, policy and reality don't always concur. LBJ was trying his best to engage a "limited war" against communism, to contain the spread and might of an ideological foe. The aim of the Bush administration, I believe, is to eradicate, not just contain, a foe that is not only ideologically opposite but radical as well. So rather than a "limited war" against a greater entitiy, Bush is seeking total annihilation, complete victory, against a diffuse enemy. We're not seeing a "limited war" here but a "protracted conflict." I think the strategies and the mindset are going to *have* to be a little different than 60's era LBJ.

I'm no Bush supporter -- not by a long shot -- but here's my $0.02 worth.
Every time a new President is elected (and I've seen quite a few), the new one makes me wish I had the previous one back. It seems like Presidents keep getting worse and worse and worse. For example, I hated Clinton while he was in office, but Bush makes him look good by comparison. If this trend continues, in 15 or 20 years I will probably look back and say Bush was pretty good.
That assumes that in 15 or 20 years there is still something known as "the Presidency" in what we now call "The United States."

He may not be a *good* one; but he's better than any *other* President we've had since Ronald Reagan! And he would be an even better President if all the libs and Hollywood elite were *true* patriots instead of just "Bush-bashers"!
Oh, that's right, I forgot: they're still sore that they couldn't steal the election like JFK did in 1960!

Good reference to LBJ, and I agree what can one say other than he was true to his wife.

I have a similar question for you, How can anyone think Bull Clinton or Jimmy Carter were good Presidents? He is a good president, not the best, but far from the worst!

It's easy. You research the world and it's modern history, and see who has also done the research, and who is running for President. You verify that they believe in the theory of trickle down economics, that they believe in smaller government, and tax reductions for all.
Then you vote.

WOW...who are YOU? President Bush is a great President...and at least he doesn't run around thinking he can raise the dead!
How I think he's great...with much consideration and enough brains to see beyond the present moment...the ability to recognize a squeaky wheel as just that, and ignore it...by basing my opinion on personal research and not media.
