This is what they need to do. You KEEP yes thats right KEEP Kwame Brown. I don't care if he's inconsistant he is only 25 and a huge body like that only comes around once in a long time (ex: Karl Malone, Shaq.) What you can then do is trade Bynum for Garnett and let Smush Parker, Shammond Williams, Aaron Mckie. and Luke Walton go. To me either you keep Luke and get rid of lamar or you get rid of Luke. I don't care that he is a great team player and unselfish he simply does not have enough basketball skills to give up that much money for. If the Lakers resign Luke that means that there is no money left to get Garnett. Realistically by getting rid of Shammond, Mckie, Smush, and Walton, they free up enough money to get KG. The best possible thing that could ever happen would be that the Lakers keep Lamar and Bynum and sign KG through free agency. This is what the lineup would be if the Lakers do these moves
PG Jordan Farmar
SG Kobe Bryant
SF Lamar Odom
PF Kevin Garnett
C Kwame Brown

I agree that should be the lineup next year. I don't know how likely it is for KG to come to LA though. I've been hearing mixed news about what he wants to do. He keeps saying that he won't force a trade, but others have quoted him as saying he wanted out of Minnesota. I'm sure the Lakers are more than happy to go for that type of revamping to get KG after a humiliating first round loss to the Suns.

However, i don't think Smush, Williams, McKie, and Walton will get it done. Those guys are just not enough to make the trade happen. Sure, it makes room for Garnett's salary, but which other team involved in the trade would take those guys? They've only been a cancer to the Lakers. But i do agree that those guys need to go just for the sake of the team. They suck.

In order to finally get KG in the lineup i really think it's going to require Lamar to leave in place of Walton.

Here's what i think is a more realistic lineup:

PG Farmar
SG Kobe
SF Luke Walton
PF Garnett
C Kwame Brown

What up The Question Asker, I believe the Lakers have now not but had the possibility to peer how their complete roster might play in combination (with the wounds to Bynum and Ariza) final yr. In phrases of signings the Lakers didn't have a lot cash to signal any predominant gamers given that they're over the revenue cap. That's why they would now not re-signal Roni Turiaf- they usually had a rough time however ultimately had been equipped to re-signal Sasha Vujacic. The Lakers such a lot portable side appears to be Lamar Odom. But there are a couple of factors why the Lakers don't desire to alternate Lamar correct now. With the dual towers and Kobe, Lamar offers you plenty of versatility and if he capabilities greater with the 2d unit- you would see Lamar giving the Lakers such a lot versatility to matchup good in opposition to any workforce. Lamar has an expiring $14.one million million agreement so in the event that they discover that Lamar isn't steady it should not be rough to alternate him and you continue to have sufficient time to equipment up for the playoffs. (Remember the Gasol traded did not occur till close the alternate closing date final yr). So you can also discover extra gamers to be had (esp. from groups who would possibly not have met their pre-season expectancies). The Lakers commonly also are due to the fact retaining Lamar given that recollect he had tragically misplaced his son approximately two years in the past- and had even idea approximately retirement. If Lamar needs to conclude as a Laker (re-signal after this season- it is viable for the Lakers to re-signal him for much less (probably like $eight or $nine million) after which be equipped to pursue an additional colossal identify loose agent- for approximately that quantity. Keep in brain that they may additionally must re-up Andrew in a yr so the Lakers are looking to maintain their nucleus in combination to make championship runs for now not simply this yr however for the following five plus years. I don't think the T-wolves would want to help the Lakers by giving Garnett to them. The Most possible destination for thr "Big Ticket" is probably in the East. The wolves would definitely not help a future play-off opponent, so I think the best thing for the Lakers is lure back to the West Jermaine O' Neil who I think is no longer happy in Indiana.

i dont think that the t-wolfes will give uo their best player on the team for Bynum. I know he is young and has talent and could be a great player but you just cant trade your best player like that. And do you know how high their payroll will be even by letting all those guys go it will still be very high.

so garnett is really going to the lakers, huh? for me, they should still keep luke, then one of the superstars has to sacrifice and agree to have some cuts in their salaries.
