when i converted, I got 0.08g which I do not think is right

Nope, it's not. The density of water is 1 g/cc and one cc = .001 L so it's also 1 g/mL and 100 mL is 100 grams. (1 cubic meter of water is 1 metric ton or 1000 kg is the way I remember it ☺)

The density of water is aprox 1 g,mL so 100 mL water has mass of aprox 100g.

water is pretty simple for a reason.

1 gram of water = 1 mL of water.
