A GREAT BALL PLAYER AND PITCHER - BUT DEDICATED TO THE DOLLAR AND NOT A TEAM. TYPICAL NEW AGE BALL PLAYER WHO CHASED MONEY RATHER THEN LOYALTY. NO ONE SEEMS TO GET IT. ONCE BASEBALL WAS A GAME - A TEAM OF PLAYERS YOU COULD COUNT ON EACH YEAR TO BE WITH YOUR HOME TEAM. NOW ALL THEY DO IS STRIKE AND CHASE MONEY AND EACH YEAR YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHO WILL BE IN YOUR STARTING LINEUP - IT IS A SHAME

I have been a fan of Roger Clemens before I even learned to throw a baseball, so I can honestly say that I am positively ecstatic just for the fact that he has chosen to pitch for one more season. The Greatest Pitcher of Our Time will have one of the grandest entrances of all time into Yankee Stadium, and one of the most revered and respectful appearances of a Yankee pitcher in Boston, simply because he IS "The Rocket."
The helicopter idea is great, but how about a rocket-propelled jetpack?
And by the way, Red Sox fans... oh, forget it. You aren't even worth it. I'm just going to enjoy this victory.
TO JASONPICKLES:
No, you haven't. You are sour, upset, spiteful, cruel, and malicious simply because Clemens did not chose to accept such a deal from YOUR team (be it Houston or Boston). FYI: Clemens has already accepted contracts with outlandish numbers such as these. If you have lost respect now, where were you when he signed with the Astros?

The really cool part is that even with Clemens the Yankees will not make the playoffs this year.

Cool? I don't think so. He is a good pitcher who has had a great career. But no one, not even Clemens, is worth that kind of money. And he is not alone either. Pro sports salaries have gone crazy. Most people can't afford to attend games due to ticket, parking, and food prices.

If the yankees win it all then clemens coming back will be a big deal. If they lose, No one will care if clemens came back or not.

Give Clemens all the credit in the world to be able to fool the Yankees to pay him that amount of money. Yankees are desperate and their fans are idiots.

It is not cool, it is blatant robbery and greed. I have lost all my respect for Roger Clemens after this.
