Yes they can. That may actually help you stop because they grow under the fake nail. The only thing I hate about getting my nails done is that it is very hard to get the fake nails off when you want them off and sometimes it takes some of your real nail off. When you go back to get them fixed they will fill them.

if you bite them back so far that the tips of the fingers sort of puff up and curl back over the nail, then no, they can't. If they are just bitten short but there isn't a "bump" beyond the nail, then yes, they can do them. But if you're a bad nail biter, you will probably end up biting the acrylics off too, and do even more damage to the natural nail. But hopefully, having nice looking acrylic nails will make you want to stop biting.

I go to get my nails done on a regular basis. I have always liked wearing acrylics, but now it's a necessity. I was in a car accident 8 years ago and broke my back. I'm now in a wheelchair and because of that I have to wear acrylics. If I don't I tend to break my nails down really low (painfully low) wheeling around. Since getting the acryclics, I don't do that anymore.

I do tend to break my nails from time to time, but it doesn't hurt that bad, and it's because I'm broke. The reason I bring my finanical state is because I can't afford to get my nails filled in every two weeks like they recommend, so I tend to get them done once a month. Which makes them long and puts strain on my real nails, which makes it harder for me to keep the nails on like they are supposed to.

If you get them more square then oval like you real nails that also keeps them stronger. It really works!! Also don't get them really long, that doesn't make them as durable. I wheel several blocks everyday and sometimes I do break a nail, and sometimes I break them really low and they have always been able to put them back on.

The one tip that I have for you is when going to a shop where the Chinese (not racist) run you have to be careful. There is a technique they are taught that can actually hurt you in the long run. They take a tool and sand out a line in your real nail. (And if your not paying attention to this action, you won't notice it until it's to late. They do it while sanding the nail before putting on the fake nail. That doesn't mean that is why they sand your nail, it's just something they do on the side).

They then put the fail nail into that hole. So when and if you get the nails off you then have to heal the nail and it leaves a outline of the area where they used to put the fake acrylic nail. After about a year that goes away, but the longer you have the fake nails on and done the worse that gets. I was in a car accident two days after that technique was done on me, and had all my nails taken off a couple weeks later.

Also make sure that they have their instruments sterilized because if they don't do that then you can get sick with really bad/serious infections.

i bite my nails also so i feel for you. My nails were short but not so short that you couldn't file them a little tiny bit. If you're talking about a basic manicure, I believe they should still be able to paint your nails, even them off and file them (depending on how long they really are). If you mean getting acrylics, i believe they can do those on any length simply because they go right over your nail and it won't matter.

Full acrylic nails can be put on any sized nails, but tips and extensions can only be done where there is some nail there originally. I had mine done with full acrylics when I had a series of special events to attend and my nails were wider than they were long.
However, if they are good practitioners, they will not put any form of nails on if your own are so low they bleed, or if there is any sign of infection. So take care not to bite them before then.

You should go to someone who sculpts nails. there is no tip put on and it just arcrylic shaped the same way. Its the strongest so it will protect your nails the most. It might also be the most expensive, but it will also make them the best shape they can be. Also, invest in good hand lotion and solar oil to keep cuticles in shape. Chances are if your nails look good you wont want to bit them.

If you have bitten your nails down to the nubs, the answer would be no.Don't waste your time or money for your nails to be done. Some will attempt to do it,only for the money. But within two days it will start popping off.I know i've tried it and I hardly have finger nails

Yes - I did the same thing, and fake nails totally cured me.

You'll be fine in a few weeks at most!
