I used to know this girl, she was so beautiful, and she was very nice, maybe a little too nice. She hung out at this bar I used to work at, and she would sleep with just about any one. She wasn't interested in money, and she wouldn't consider entering into a relationship. She was intelligent, she could hold an interesting conversation at length, but she would never talk about herself. When asked, she would just smile sweetly, and change the subject, giving no indication one way or thee other that she was even bothered about it. I used to talk to her all the time, I actually enjoyed her company, and she was always up for hiding in the corner and making out for awhile, and she had these lips that were just perfect for kissing, and the way her body would melt into my arms would leave me speechless, dumbfounded, and looking in her eyes to see what she felt, I would find...Nothing. Nothing at all. No Love, no Pain, no Fear, its like she had perfect control over her emotions.
I never could figure her out, so one day, I asked one of my friends who had known her from way back, and she knew all about it. It turns out the girl had a boyfriend who she loved very much, she basically worshipped the ground he walked on. She gave him all of her Love, to the very last drop, Her entire Heart, even her Soul. He died in a horrible car wreck, and her Soul went with him. She remained alive in a kind of simulated happiness, because she knew that it would hurt her boyfriend if she did something terrible to herself, or let herself be depressed all the time.
Such a Beautiful smile, but those eyes, they are like Death itself...

I wouldn't make any blanket assumptions about such people. Often they are anti-social, sad, injured, or insane, but often not. Sometimes they are introverted but wildly creative and innovative people. I always adpot the latter viewpoint first, unless proven wrong, making an effort to go up to them and start up a conversation. My findings suggest that you'd be suprised what they tell you, perhaps even shocked, but in a good way. The glass is half-full people.

When I stare too long in the mirror.

Seriously I have stared in the eyes of a blind person and have seen the wonder that is the eye itself. The closer you stare the more intricate the design becomes as you see life even in a blind man's iris.

Yes they were reflecting the pain of severe abuse, and neglect...I am still honoring the pledge I made on that first day to seem them full.

Yeah, he was really depressed, and when you'd look into his eyes it was like he couldn't look back at you even if he was. It wasn't really sadness anymore really, it was like he just didn't have anything to see anymore.
