For those with darker skin tones:

One can always opt for CLEAR bandages, or even use the newer products called "Wound Glue" and "Second Skin."

I've never seen a white band-aid. Beige/peachy colored, yes. But not white. They also come in a wide variety of colors and patterns, including see-through.

However, I don't recall ever seeing any band-aids in dark colors, such as black or brown or a deep red, etc. -- generally you want to be able to tell when your bandage is dirty or bloody, so I don't think a darkly-colored band-aid like that would sell very well.

Yes, I actually have thought about this before... and the older Band-Aids were actually an even lighter color "flesh tone" then they are now. It does seem odd to me, that after all these years, they still haven't come up with separate "light, medium and dark" packages (or maybe they have and I'm just oblivious). I buy the most outrageous ones I can find. :)

hmm this made me think of Sin City when Marv gets band-aids. LOL wheee wish my band-aids were fluorescent like that.

I've had rainbow band-aids before. They were fun! And cartoon character ones! You just gotta pay more for those. :)

and apparently...lmao! There are Jesus band-aids and even a prize inside the box? I am guessing a mini bible or a crucifix? a-hem lol no offense to anyone. I thought that was funny.

Have you read 'noughts and crosses'? Its a novel written about a time when black people control society, and white people don't, and its about a relationship between a white boy and a black girl. Anyway, in the novel the boy asked her "have you ever wondered why they only make brown band-aids?" . That was the first time I'd ever thought about it! The book is great, I love its comparisons/links to our own society.

A more careful examination would reveal a wide range of colors in Band-Aids.

Band-Aids come in a lot of colors. You can get Band-Aids to match any skin tone. You can also get cartoon characters on them.

I've never seen a white adhesive bandage...they tend to be a "flesh" tone (if you are caucasian) and some have cartoon images and such to appeal to kids.

Perhaps you should write Band-Aid, Curad, and others and ask why they don't make bandages that are colored more to match non-caucasian skin.

I thought that they made dark band aids too? I guess that is one reason why they came up with a clear band aid.
Hey, I prefer SpongBob SquarePants band aids anyway!!
