It shouldn't take long. He's already alienated 80% of the U.S. population.

Different Political systems !!!!, There is a new President in
France, Not a new Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister is Dominique de Villepin ( elected 2005 ),
The new President is Nicholas Sarkozy, A flamboyant political conservative whom I expect to pay attention to
French internal problems to start with.
He'll sit on the fence as far as the US is concerned, with a wait and see attitude and leave this bit of foreign policy to
the current government.
He won't change course since the French position concerning US foreign policy is absolutely clear across most
party lines. They don't agree with it, and the war in Iraq is considered a rash and probably illegal act.
That was never even an issue in the race for the Presidency.
He is however a 'conservative', but in a French - European
sense and as such still miles away from the right wing stance of the current US administration.
A friend of the USA he is,but many European political leaders probably are, it is just the current confrontational
policies they're not willing to digest.
He'll wait till the US Presidential election before he'll commit
himself to a foreign Policy concerning America in detail.
Any Major politician in Europe does this, to be tied up and
associated with 'Bushist' policies is considered political
suicide in most European countries these days.
A surefire way to lose massively in the next election.
Unless Bush needlessly provokes him off course, like the
charming Donald Rumsfeld with his ' Old Europe' remark.
Sarkozy may be a Friend but he is very French first, quick
tempered with long toes. He would definitely react to insults
concerning ' L' honneur de La France'.

That will not happen. France is in deep sh.. and needs the USA very much more than the USA needs France.
Even with all the ctap about france and the USA they do get along quite well and have for a long time. Most is just talk and not real.

The new prime minister of France is Pro-America. He knew all about Bush when he ran for office. (Some people are wise enough to LIKE the US).

Well, he did the Queen of England! Lets not stop there. Maybe he can alienate the whole world before he is out of office! He certainly has a substantial list already!
He is a total embarrassment as a leader of the free world, which many no longer view us as!

Probably about 2009 when Bush leaves office. Sarkozy has already said in his inaugural speech, he intends for France to make nice and get back with the United States.
Sarkozy is a conservative!!!!

Has anyone noticed that France has elected a new president by a substantial margin, with a huge voter turnout, that is very pro-America and this is seen as disappointing for the American liberals?
Just goes to show you, what is bad for America is good for democrats and what is good for America is good for republicans.
