Look at Conseco (CNO). It has been depressed recently, so if you subscribe to the "buy low" nonsense, you pretty-well are there. Earnings has been negative until recently, so then there is room for appreciation. The stock repurchase effects are probably already done, so the improved earnings picture ought to float this boat. (Think 'dogs of the dow' effect but this is in the S&P500).

Inversely, ACAS (American Capital Strategies) has lost some money, a bit more than expected, but I hear that management is buying up their own stock. Hmm, maybe they know something. I understand that S&P rates it highly for some reasons or other.

Look up Will Wright and all he has done for computer games. His next big game is called Spore and it WILL take over everyone's lives much like how his games The Sims and The Sims 2 have.

He works for Electronic Arts. Once that game gets released and blows up the EA stock will rise.

I like Hewlett-Packard (HPQ) - strong institutional sales and no more scandal.
