A bladder infection. Caused by not wiping from front to back is most likely. You can drink a lot of water and cranberry juice to help clear it up. I get these all the time too; when I feel an infection coming on I start downing loads of water to help flush out your system. I don't like taking antibiotics because I get really bad yeast infections because the antibiotics kill off all that good bacteria that you need down there.

When you are pregnant the level of sugar in your urine rises, which makes it easier for bacteria to breed. Generally this is bacteria from your vagina that travels upwards.

You should really get it treated because the muscles that keep urine from back flowing are relaxed during pregnancy and that makes it more likely to get a kidney infection, which is very serious.

To prevent future infections make sure you finish peeing, a lot of us rush to pee particularly when we are going all the time. And alwasy urinate within a half hour of finishing sex. Ascorbic acid and cranberry (juice or pills) will also help prevent future infections.

sometimes when you are preg you can have a uti and not know it until you go to the dr and they test your urine. it is common and most often treated w/ an antibiotic that is safe during pregnancy. it needs to be treated b/c if not it can lead to preterm labor.
it is caused by a bacteria most often e coli strep or staph. all of those bacteria live in your intestines and when you have a bowel movement and if you wipe from back to front you can bring that bacteria to your vagina. sometimes sex can cause it as well. if you wear thongs that can too. if you can and are still having sex you need to make sure that you pee immediately after wards to flush it out.
keep in mind it is nothing to worry about and your dr will test for this at each visit.
hope it helps

perfectly normal to have some bacteria in your urine when you're pregnant as well as some protein in there also. if the dr didn't give you antiobiotics it's ok. bacteria doesn't necessarily mean infection. you might have not wiped/cleansed properly before catching it, maybe you didn't catch it mid stream either. remember that when you are pregnant you have alot more heat down there which can cause bacteria growth with your sweat.

but, yes, totally normal...don't worry...you'll be fine.

{btw: cranberry is good when you have a uti but, it also causes "kidney stones" and pregnant women are prone to "kidney infections" during pregnancy.}

you could have a bladder infection and be asymptomatic. Talk to you OB, you may need to take an antibiotic. Untreated infections can lead to premature labor.

Well....how do you know that you do?

Often times pregnant women get urinary tract or bladder infections---very, very common. They will just put you on an approved antibiotic.
