I think it is rediculous how dogs, as well as babies, have turned into some sort of fashion statement. Like is soo cute to have a dog in some stupid sparkly tutu in a just as ubsurd matching "carrier." Seriously come on now. It's an animal, not an accessory!!!!! I also get very annoyed with people who think it's a good idea to take their dog with the shopping. Seriously people, how is this in any way cute. I personally do not like stepping in dog **** in the middle of the mall, even if it matches my shoes...

Not if they are o.k. with it ! I just cut my dogs hair and she is older and sense she's use to having all that warm coat on her and now she doesn't have it, i put a shirt on her so she will stay warm ! That's not animal cruelty !! She doesn't seem to mind it, in fact i think she likes being kept warm in it ! Although i think some people may carry it a little to far by dressing them up too much !! After all they are not children ! and some dogs may not like it and pull them off !! I mean i love my dog like a family member and all but i still know she's a dog ! And treat her as a dog and a beloved pet ! She is my baby of course in a certain sense! she sleeps with me too but she is my pet , my buddy and companion, and friend! So it how you go about dressing them and how the dog acts to it ! But it's not animal cruelty !!

No, not unless the pet is freaking out. (I don't mean annoyed with a hat or something, I mean panting and whining and nervous) And I think its really stupid to do it any time that isn't a holiday. If your pet needs a closet or a drawer in your dresser than you have issues and probably need a doll, not a living breathing, thing.

I don't think its cruelty but dogs are not dolls to be messed around with in that way. Im sure Paris's little Tinkerbell is probably really tired of getting dressed EVERY DAY. Dogs are meant to be free and natural...just let 'em be for goodness sakes! Dogs are dogs and Im sure most of 'em hat clothes~~

if the owner is making the animal wear something it clearly doesn't want to wear then yes it is but otherwise no but it does look stupid seeing a little dog in a sparkly dress you have to feel sorry for it. But if its a dog jacket for protection against the weather that's fine.

If the pet seems nervous about it and it's not an all the time thing, it's okay. Some people go overboard and think pets are barbie dolls or something and that's just unfair....

depends on how the dog reacts and what you actually put on it. My dog loves her little jumper in the winter because she's got really fine silky hair and gets cold easily. But I've seen people dress their dogs in stupid hats and pants and the dog is clearly uncomfortable; that's a bit mean because the dog cant take it off.

No, not if you are just putting a sweater on it in the winter or a raincoat on it when it is pouring outside. My chihuahua really needs those things otherwise she shakes and doesn't want to go out in the dead of winter. It would be cruel for me to drag her outside in the freezing cold without protecting her from it.

No, they just need to get used to it. New born babies arent used to clothes but nobody squawks about dressing them up. As long as the clothes are comfortable, and the animals can still do what they'd do naturally without them on (as long as its not restraining)..I see no problem with it.

It is only if your pet feels uncomfortable (which you can know by the way he reacts while you're trying to dress him up) or if it is made of a fabric that could attempt against his health (eg allergies).
