Try to get her to watch it. Or, better yet, take her to a game. She'll be hooked.

Bring out the butter, my man. Take her out for dinner (when there's no game on), just do something nice. And be sure to add "thank you for putting up with my playoff obsession" so she knows it means a lot to you, and you would appreciate her cutting you some slack.
Otherwise, just compromise. Watch chick flicks with her (when there's no game on), or do whatever you have to do to bring balance to the force.
Failing that... guilt, while unethical, can also be highly effective if used properly.
Thankfully, I married a good Canadian girl, so we rarely fight when it comes to such things.
Good luck!

Take her to a game. I'm a woman and I got hooked watching the Senators ... that and having a son in minor hockey.
You are more apt to see me in front of the tv watching the playoff than my husband, although he loves it too.
How can you not love the playoffs .... they rock.
Just explain to her how important playoff season is....... surely she will understand!!

Explain to her that the playoffs are important to you. Also, if you have it, DVR the game(s) you want and spend time with her. Or, program the VCR to record the game(s). That's what my boyfriend does.
If you're growing a playoff beard, compromise and do a little man-scaping. Keep it trim and not scruffy.

Buy her a gift certificate for Bed, Bath and Beyond! Or some store that is a good 3 hour drive. She will go trust me its shopping!
Good luck and enjoy these great playoffs!
Go Sabres!

Thank God I have a wife that loves sports just as much as I do. I just let her watch whatever she wants all the time but when there is a game on we watch it. So pretty much she gets the better end of the deal. She gets to watch whatever she wants (which all I watch is sports anyway TV shows suck) then when a game is on she gets to watch it with me.

Unfortunately for you, a lot of women HATE sports on tv and they look at it as a huge waste of time when their man could be doing more constructive things with his time. I'm sorry but that's just the way it is. Good luck.

A shock collar. When she starts nagging give her a warning beep and if she nags again... all bets are off. Hey like you said it's the playoffs.

Go to a bar, don't stay at home. Or you can send her out of town on a surprise vacation. Better yet send yourself on a surprise vacation to the hockey games.
