Is it just me, or does anyone else see a reflection of traditional conservative values vs. contemporary liberal values in the new Apple comercials?

I mean the Microsoft guy is a buisness professional, uptight, money-man who looks down on those do don't have the same commitment to money/efficiecy, while the Apple guy is a laid back, creative type who just wants to enjoy life. Is this a stereotype Apple has created to pander to the Liberal demographic?

Anyway, anyone else find this to be funny?

I like the one where they're all piled up on the cart because they can't function.

Sounds like republicans to me.

Do you remember the famous Apple '1984' add played only once for the Superbowl back sometime in the 80's.
The implication was that IBM was the big corporate unchanging behemoth while Apple was represented by the individual female athlete there to break the power of the conservative corporate institution.
Typical right brainer persuasion.
Forget the specifics of which computer is better.
Just go for whichever one looks cooler, man.

All conservatives need guns because we are cowards at heart. Liberals want their children to be able to grow up in a safe world. No conservatives are vegetarians because we all love to slurp the meat. Liberals want to make sure that the meat on the market is safe for their children. Conservatives are cowards by nature so when we perceive a threat we sneak up behind and attack. Liberals try to talk to people and avoid wars to protect their children. All conservatives are closet homosexuals but live in shame so we want the government to tell people it's wrong. Liberals see homosexuals as people and want to make sure that everyone has the same rights and protections under the law. If a black man or hispanic man is conservative he is considered uneducated and pitied. Their liberal counterparts want equal rights for all Americans. If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to get disability benefits and welfare. A liberal goes out and takes any job they can find to support their children. If a conservative doesn't like a talk show host they try to murder them. Liberals just don't pay attention to them. If a conservative is a non-believer he is driven from the party. Liberals live life according to most religious philosophy's. If a conservative decides he needs health care he goes to the ER at the county hospital then never pays the bill. A liberal demands that everyone has access to health insurance and is required to provide for themselves. Hope that clears it up for you God Bless

Well, during the past 6 years, which sane person would want to associate with the label "Conservative".

Scandals have shown so many Conservatives to be hypocrites.

They teach morality and are simply sexual perverts dropping off their pants in shadows!

They preach ethics, but are collecting bribes in secret meetings!

They save embryos, but are never seen to voice out about our young Troops coming hime in coffins, or so many wounded and sadly in a very insecured state of mind. Of course, none of them even bothered to ask how many innocent Iraqi men, women, and children ACTUALLY perished in the misguided Iraq War that was pushed to occur with falsified intelligence.

Conservative for them merely mean: To strike fear into the hearts of the vulnerables in order to control their minds, bodies and soul.

Oh yeah, conservative spending? How many Conservatives are real thrifters in their personal home budgeting? How many do buy things they don't seriously need, but buy them all the same to keep up with the Jones???

No. The Microsoft guy is an older man who is not with it. He does not represent conservatives unless you are a liberal who thinks conservatives are all older men. The idea is microsoft is obsolete, apple is a new improved type of computer and software, so it is represented by a young man.

thats definitely not true. both microsoft and apple are very laidback and casual. but when it comes to money, they are both very aggressive. if you compare bill gates with steve jobs, you'll see many similiarities, look into their history and how they both got started. watch the movie "pirates of silicone valley", its a pretty interesting movie about the start of microsoft and apple. however when you compare microsoft and apple to IBM, lol well thats completely different. IBM is THE most uptight, strict, monotonous company to work for

This question is really funny to me because a couple of hours ago I started having problems with my computer. (Thanks to my son for throwing it on the floor) My husband said if I couldn't fix the problem he would buy me an I Mac. My first thought was those commercials. I am a Republican and I started thinking maybe duck tape would be the best solution. I am not sure if I want to go the I Mac route.

I think you have to much time on your hands to be comparing Microsoft and Apple to liberals and conservatives.

I thought of that before also. Definitely the extremes of both sides. I think it is pretty funny.

So if you use a MAC, you are a liberal? I don't think so!

I am using a Mac right now. My daughter calls me "right wing." My next computer is going to be a MAC that can also be a PC!
