why does it hurt a woman when she looses her virginity?

I'm 19 and still a virgin and wants to wait untill I get married to lose my virginity. A couple of my friends had lost their virginities and they told me that it hurts the first time. Why is that?

It hurts when you lose your virginity because you are tearing the natural seal of your body which keeps the gateway to becoming a women and a mother in your natural life.Hymen is a thin membrane which acts as an seal to keep off many an things until your body is ready to achieve woman hood. Once your body is ready ,that is you start your mensural cycle and are willing to have intercourse then this (Hymen will be torn naturally or while you are exercising or playing games such as gymnasts or cycling or horse riding) there is nothing wrong if the thing tears open naturally as you might not even have noticed the pain as it was done naturally when in the act of the games etc.If it has not been torn naturally and will be done by your loved one ,then there is a possibility that you will experience some pain. So do not worry ,Remember that there is no pain no gain and there is no pleasure without any pain .

Yes, it does hurt. It's because you are stretching a part of your body that's not been used before in that sense. Some women still have their hymen in tact when they have sex for the first time. Sex tears the hymen, which will cause pain. However, some women are born without a hymen or have torn it from doing sports or riding a bicycle or riding a horse, so they may not experience pain. Also, the muscles are tight there, so sex can cause pain from that as well. However the muscles loosen up after a few times.

Dont take this the wrong way, but everything "new" has a break in period. Just as it takes leather to be worn a few months or years to loosen up, the same goes for flesh.
The body is not used to those nerves being stimulated and your body interpets them as pain at first when your hymen is broken.
Later, hopefully your body will percieve them as pleasure. Any physiologist will tell you that the only difference between pleasure and pain is the way your mind interpets them.
If your hubby takes his time and is gentle, you wont have any problem much with pain.

For many women, the first time they have sex it breaks their hymen. This is the same thing as splitting open the skin--it hurts!

It can also be broken by tampons, bicycle seats... Basically if you've had an inexplicable shart pain in there, it's probably broken and you don't have to worry about sex hurting.

i dont really think its all about the hymen, cus personally, for me, if i don't have sex for a couple of months the next time i do it kinda hurts, even though oviously the hymen has already been broken.

i think its just because the vagina is stretched alot for the first time.

Because sex stretches you farther than you have ever been stretched. After a few times it will feel good. Just wait until it is with someone you love, it will make it less emotionally painful. Best of luck!
