I've been thinking about getting the game officially but I need to find out if I can finiancially handle it. That's why I'm wondering how much does a subscription to World of Warcraft cost?
Thanks

You have two options this way: 1. Download the free trial, play the free trial for a ten days; then at the end, upgrade to the unlocked game. 2. Buy the game from either an online store or from a real world retailer. You could also download the trial and then buy the software if you prefer to do it that way. Either way you'll pay the same thing. Burning Crusade is an expansion pack, you have to have the full game already to install it. The expansion pack adds two new races, a new crafting profession, and an entire new area for HIGH level characters. You don't really need it to play, but it does add some options for low and high end characters. 20 gigs is way too high. The original game is only 7~8 gigs, and the expansion pack adds another 2gigs. There are a lot of patches, but there aren't 10 gigs worth. :)

After you buy the software, you have to pay a monthly subscription fee. The amount per month depends on how many months you buy at ONE time.

1 month = $14.99
3 months = $ 41.97 or $ 13.99 a month
6 months = $ 77.94 or $ 12.99 a month

The game cards are pretty much the exact same thing, they are for people who don't want to give their credit cards to Blizzard or don't want to be auto-billed.

Once you pay the subscription fee, you cannot get the money back, even if you stop playing. If you cancel re-bill you will get to play to the end of your currently purchased time, then your account will become inactive.

Inactive accounts are not deleted, and can be activated again by resuming the subscription fees.

There are private server (if you can find one) that don't require the fee, but there will be less than a hundred people on it (if even that many) so you don't really have a rich PVP, guild, or cooperative options and miss out on a lot of the fun of working with/competing with people.

If you purchase the original for about $20 new you get the first 30 days free. You need the original to install the expansion ($40). I go for the 6 months at a time option for about $75 for 6 months. I think that you can download the game now from their server and buy an account key online so you can save the $20 and but you won't get your first month free which is ok because you're paying $5 extra when you purchase the game anyways. Check their website to be sure.

It will cost you $15 per month via cc subscription. Or you can buy game cards for 1-3 months at a time.

If you want to try the game get the 10day trial. May cost you a dollar or two for the game. if you then want to continue playing you will have to buy a CD key.

The original game itself is $20 dollars I think. The expansion pack (optional) is another $40 (I think). And the subscription is $15 dollars a month. But the game comes with 1 month free. (I think)
