Tired of mainstream huh? I was too, so I dug up some awesome heavy metal. Sure, it's old but it's a good change from typical mainstream bands with guys who sound like girls. I suggest Pantera, Megadeth, and Danzig. No screaming really, the vocals are just gruff I guess you could say.

Well, there are some good artists in the same vein:
Jet
The Classic Crime
Alexisonfire (if the screaming doesn't bug you)
Motion City Soundtrack
The Used (also some screaming)
H.I.M (kinda darkish, but they have world famous love songs)
Chevelle (especially their new album)
Paramore
If you want to go really insane:
As I Lay Dying
A Static Lullaby
UnderOath
Most of those are good for someone like you, i'd think.

My well known band is Behemoth. as much as i might like to function some hyperlinks, I certainly have dial up and that i'm attempting to load a music suited now, so that's like uber sluggish. sorry. My well known album of theirs is Zos Kia Cultus. i admire the way they combination Black steel and death steel (i'm a reasonable fan of DM, and that i've got not heard sufficient BM to truly choose it, yet i admire Blackened death steel). Nergal has an excellent voice that quite captures the aggression he's putting into the songs and that i actual adore Inferno's drumming. I additionally like how their music has developed, yet retained areas of earlier varieties so which you would be able to truly see how they have more advantageous over the years.

My favorite local band (st louis, MO area) is LYE. They are awesome!! They almost remind me a little bit of Tool. Their website is www.lyeband.com or you can check them out on myspace. Go to music and type in the word LYE in the music search area.

Sons of the Cloth, hands down. They are underground right now, but I like them anyway. Its a really unique blend of hard rock and progressive classical piano. Check it out. www.sonsofthecloth.com. They are on CD baby, and broadjam.
