based on the people I know, I would say its 50/50

Well, you may get some differing opinions on this one, but unless you are educated, don't plan on finding a manufacturing job in Denver. They don't exist.

Denver's economy is still based on energy, telecommunications and financial services. The only job's I would consider "blue collar" are the construction jobs and you need to be skilled to get those, so I would not say Denver is really very blue collar at all.
