Can anyone tell me some info or some good websites about classical music? Specifically, what life was like during the era (rich and poor people, standard of living etc.) and the paintings, and artists etc. of the time...?

I like www.kickassclassical.com. It's got some good basic info on the "hits" of classical music. I guess from there you could look up the life and times of the composers at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page.

.I would recommend Classical Net. It has tons of information on classical music and composers. It also has links to over 5,000 other classical music web sites.

Classical Net is a great one stop site for classical music information IMHO!
