im sick and tired of this communist thing, but if we embargo goods fine, but dont embargo PEOPLE
the right to travel is a HUMAN right, not an american right, it is up to the traveler to research the country

and people keep saying that china is becoming less communist - another lie brought to you by american capital interests - even if china was fully communist, you really think america would stop business with the country? that would mean moving factories from china to america, which would mean a pair of slippers would move from 10 dollars to 150 dollars because americans actually HAVE a Minimum Wage. china doesn't, so they are literally making shoes for pennies, which means why things at walmart is so cheap.

i personally hate castro (not as much as bush) , but the embargo simply HAS NOT WORKED. they wanted to overthrow castro's government. did they? NO. they wanted to cripple the government? they day? NO. listen to the rest the world, who voted 16 YEARS to condemn the embargo.

I agree with Ross, I hope the next guy down has good luck in Cuba, and I don't understand the question, I'm working on the Mid East, communism and embargo are seperate things, and how are we embargoing people. Travel for humans is a right to all, now how you travel, is another thing, if you are traveling in a tire tube from Cuba to America, it seems you didn't make travel arangements for the way back, and would therefore not be here to take in the sites and spend money on our historical attractions, probably not staying at the Raddison Hotel either. China, please don't argue the China Factor, here's the low down on China, you can't go into any store anymore, whether it's a Mall or Wal Mart and find clothing or any other item that hasn't been made in China. I went into an Eddie Bauer's in the Mall, and picked up a shirt for my husband, guess what the label said, Made in Bancok, another was made in China, and they cost 45.00. I threw them down and walked out, so China may make cheap stuff, but all of our stores are getting in on this fad. The truth is that if we could produce our own clothing, food, shoes, trinkets and whatever eles we wanted to produce, and the China market wasn't underselling us, people would make more money, that would mean that people would earn more money, our economy would be equal with our incomes, and we wouldn't need to buy cheap fall apart items from China. Our chief market should be to ourselves first, China's market should be to China, but China's chief market is to China and to us. So, our market has to go to those stores who will invest in quality, and people who shop for quality in the United States, and we have no market in stores like Wal Mart. But, to cheer them on, is to cheer for your own demise, keep that in mind.

America has a lot of control over world trade and they have always certainly hurt Cuba as much as possible because Castro allowed the USSR to base missiles there in retaliation for the US basing missiles in Turkey and NATO countries on her border. Cuba has functioned as an excellent anti Communist advert for decades and will do until Castro is dead, then they will begin exploiting Cuba in full allowing trade and casinos and likely keeping illegal unconstitutional prisons there also.

My only information about Cuba is from all the Cubans who have risked their life to come here to this country. Nobody is saying that China is less communist. But you have to acknowledge that they are using a capitalist economy for growth. How they do that is their business. They have a billion people and if they are unhappy then they can do something about it. (another reason our 2nd amendment is so important). I'm not going to listen to the rest of the world for ****. Cuba is not that important to us. At least to me it isn't.

the only good thing about the embargo is that it is the only place in the WORLD that is not "americanized." you can't even go to jerusalem today without seeing a hooters next to the grave site of jesus........
anyway hopefully once castro dies democracy NOT CAPITALISM will come to the cuban people, you don't need a capital society, american did fine for years without one, but greedy american business are more concerned about capitalism then democracy for cuba.........
200,000 americans will visit cuba in the upcoming years. i will be one of them.

and by the way, capitalism doesn't "plant the seeds" for democracy. all it plants is cheap labor and a weak american dollar. american was founded on democracy, not capitalism. i will be only in support of the embargo if vietnam, laos, china, and north korea are held to the same standards.

What lies about Cuba, whats your point?
Fidel is one foot in the grave, I would bet money as soon as he does the USA will start talking with his brother.
And Fidel can go to his grave knowing he never got in good with the USA.
