The issuing officer did not have me sign either citation received but on the one he wrote issued to def.

Most states do not require that citations be signed by the accused. Face it, if that is all it took to get out of a ticket, there would be no point in writing them up.

However, signing the ticket just means you are willing to play nice. A refusal to sign makes you look not only guilty but belligerent as well. The courts do not look kindly on hostile attitudes.
