Erin, Eryn, Erynn, Erinn, or something else and what would be a good nick name for Erin?

I love Erin and was actually considering it for my daughter. E-R-I-N. I'm not big on all those crazy spellings. It'll be annoying for the child when she's older. I had a little girl in my pre-school class and we called her Erie, Ernie, E. It's an adorable name. Best wishes!

As someone whose name is spelled an uncommon way, I would definitely suggest you save your child some frustration and use the more traditional spelling of E-r-i-n.

I am constantly spelling my name for people and yet I still get documents with my name mispelled, and lately it seems people are pointing out that my name in their records doesn't match my driver's license or passport -- even though their customer service rep. is the one who spelled it wrong!! I keep having to get papers resubmitted or get some manager to "okay" the spelling issue.
