First, be prepared to put in the time and effort to get where you want to be - talent or looks alone are not enough.

Get involved in that scene. Are there local theaters or production groups where you are? Does your school do a play or a concert? Does your school have a drama club, choir, dance or speaking clubs?

Take classes that will get you towards your goal. These include music, drama, dance and English Lit.

Do after school activities including dancing, singing, and acting classes - most studios want versatility in their actors.

Acting schools will want to know that you can and will put the effort in, and having the above on your application will help.

When ready, get a good agent. Be wary of those who want a lot of money up front, or who want you to pay out extraordinary prices for "photo shoots". There are a lot of sharks out there.

Above all, realize that being an actor is hard work. Its not all glitz and glamor. There's a lot of waiting around, a lot of rejections, and a lot of the time where you will need another income to get you through. For every star there is 30,000 want-a-bes and extras.

Why not join in local theater? Or even school plays first? Start with that and see if you get good feedback. Then have ur parents look at newspaper for audtions (if your in LA or New york this will be easy) or get an agent and get headshots. I've hear of some acting classes as nothing but waste of money. Check local city colleges to see if they offer some for low price. Don't shell out big bucks on dreams of making you a star, you'll lose money. Ultimately, you will have to do the footwork to get the work. Good luck and have fun!

Hey! I'm 15 and i would love to be an actress to! To start off, you could try taking an acting workshop - i recomend Tarlington - at the end of this workshop different agents come in and watch a performance the group put together. So its a good way to get noticed. As for the schools, maybe google Acting Schools and see what turns up, those schools should list the critera needed to join.Good Luck!

I am a professional actress at the age of 17, and I can assure you that you have a great chance of making it!
And! You don't HAVE to go to an acting school. But it is usually a good thing to do. I mean- look at Keanu Reeves! He dropped outta high school and he's a BIG star!
I would recommend that you get an agent, discuss the subject with your parents first though. . .Write up a
summary of your experiences and what you like to do. .
make a resume- present that to the school your hoping to apply to-
Next, If you don't have any experience prior- then try out for
your school play, or do some theatre in your home town!

Good luck to you!
Hope to see you on screen someday!

A good start may be to work on the exercise and techniques of method acting. Certaintly the basics of relaxation and concentration can be applied be any actor, even if you don't like the rest of the techniques of method acting. The benefit of these techniques is there are exercises for you to practice, and that gives you something tangible to work toward. A free guide to the basics of method acting is available http://www.actingscenes.com

To get into acting class, simply look in your local area for classes and workshops. I would do a little asking around to find which is the best, and then contact them to take a beginners class.

Easiest thing, get a video camera, make a youtube account and begin creating scenes for yourself. Not only will this help in the feedback department but it will how you what you look like on film? Youre young and youve got plenty of time to worry about school, just do some freelance acting for now, get a couple friends to help with the recording and stuff and make yourself a star! Hope that Helped!

Right now just stick to community plays so you have a good foundation to work with for your future (you could get into acting schools when you're older). Just stay determined and follow your dreams :)

Well, first off you could visit an acting school and ask them how to go about applying. I don't think they're very cheap though so I hope you have money.

Do you have a counselor at your High School? If so, please talk with her/him and tell them your desire to study acting. It is never to early to find out the best colleges and the best local Charter Schools if there are any for aspiring actors ...

Do you live in a city that has Charter Schools? If so, call and find out if there is one for creative arts.

Also, check with your local Jr. College and find out if they have drama classes. Find a local community theatre and ask them.

Ask. Ask. Ask. You never find out unless you ask.

good luck.

audition for plays, get into a community or school theater program, go to cattle calls(open auditions) and pay out the wazzooo for a portfolio just to get noticed. Acting schools usually require good grades, a professional portfolio, references and difficult auditions just to get in. you can call the various schools and have them send you information on entry requirements. its good to start preparing for that now.
