What nerd started this trend and did he/she commit suicide yet?
Or was it a conspiracy set up by a clothing giant to punt more "dark" clothing?
Surely having a depressed Goth was better than giving them a name for there mentalist condition and making it a fashion statement!

Emo, the only thing that makes it "cool" is the self-mutilation aspect that has been glorified. That's bull crap. It was punk all the way, and punks were smart enough to intelligently express their disregard for conformists, and question authority, and not take **** when unwarranted. That's where it started. The Goth kids, well, they weren't as aggressive, and wrote poetry rather than anti-political messages. Now it's a bunch of sad kids who don't know that they can get the pain to stop in other ways rather than to cut themselves, and wear some ridiculous hair-dos and clothes. Punk and Goth have fashion guidelines, and if you know what you're doing, you can make it work. But, this emo stuff, it really seems like it's in the beginning phases, and needs some help. For me, I am punk all the way, except, I take a shower every day, no stank *** poor personal-hygiene for this punk!

No, no, no - Emo has (appernetly) been here for years - I used to go out with a girl - Who I used to say to my friends she dresses kind of alternative - Looking back she was emo - She had thick rimmed black glasses - And was always wearing like a batman t-shirt from the movie in the 80's. I always thought she was so cool though - Only now I realise she was emo

shut it mister or woman and check it out:
the dirtyness of a 90s grunge person mixed with the depression of a 80s goth and the sappy, whiney "i want to be accepted into something special"ness of a yuppie and the "i hate you, youre not nice to people, ill hurt you, ill hurt me because i dont CARE about my well being!" of a 70s punk. get a blender, find Mr Frankenstein and bippity boppity boop- Emo.

"IT'S ALIIIIVEEEE"...

sorry, i shouldnt say whats in my head sometimes.
