What I would ask you to do is for the entire month of June, not buy gasoline from any Exxon/Mobile gas station.
One day as in the May 15th boycott is not enough to make an impression, but a month is.
Between now and mid June we can figure out who the lucky winner for July will be.
I realize this will mean driving all the way around the corner to buy your gas at the Shell station, but if it gets the oil companies attention it will be worth it.
I would also ask that you enlist as many participants as possible, e-mail every one you know and ask them to do the same. If you have a Myspace or any other means to get the word out ,please do.
Even if you are sceptical, please participate.

So, will you help?

Get their attention for what? If ExxonMobil loses market share for a month, how's that going to affect anything?

Instead of wasting time promoting a boycott of one company, why don't you do something that's patriotic, good for the environment, and does take some money out of Big Oil's pockets? Ride the bus, buy a hybrid, trade in your gas guzzler, etc. If all you want to do is write, then write to your Congressperson to increase funding and development for fuel cells.

And what exactly do you expect to accomplish? It won't make any impression on anyone, and it won't help gas prices in any detectable way.

And if you think you're "getting back" at the oil companies, well, they must not teach economics at school any more.

What good do you expect to do? Oil companies are not price gouging. You and all of your friends are not going to have one bit of impact on anything. Even if you get thousands of people to participate (which you won't). Devote your energy to something worthwhile.
