When I had an appendix attack it was the right side of my stomach that was aching and it got so bad that it woke me in the middle of the night and I was rushed to the ER andthey did like 3 scans/tests and saw that I had an enlargened appendix that was about to rupture (which is very dangerous)..yet pretty common and I went into surgery asap. Soo, this is not something you can ignore. And as your parents, they should know that their daughters health is more important than money.

okay so here is a weird test to do. Stand up and jump a few times. Does it hurt really really badly? If so thats a weird way to tell if it is your appendix. You will know if its your appendix you will be in extreme pain. bent doubled over type of pain. It will be on your side. Kinda in the pelvis area. If you are worried about the money then you need to understand that if it is your appendix and it ruptures and all of those toxins get into your body you could be in the hospital a long time and have a lot of medical expenditures. you could even die. So go to the ER and get checked out before its a huge problem. If you go now and it is your appendix they will just draw some blood and check out your cell count and they will push on your stomach and sides. If you do have to have it taken out you will be in the hospital maybe 24 hours tops. Go to the ER and get it checked.

Call the hospital and see if they offer a charity care. This usually covers all or almost all costs of an ER visit. But some hospitals require you to contact them before having a procedure or check up done. It could be several things, it's hard to tell without having some basic tests done. If it is your apendix you don't want that to get bad cause it can take months to take care of that.

Call 1-800-888-5551. This is the Johnson City Medical Center Ask-a-Nurse hotline. Speak with a trained professional. S/he can give you ideas of what it might be and advise you if you can wait it out or need to be seen in the ER.

I'm not a doctor or nurse, but....you should probably at least talk to one to make sure it isn't your appendix. If it is your appendix, and it bursts, you will likely not survive for long after without treatment - it will release toxic substances into your body cavity that will need to be drained. It's a very dangerous condition.
Also, you should search the internet for low-cost or no-cost clinics nearby. You may be able to get to an urgent care center, and for $50 or so see a doc and get a professional opinion.
Go.

Your appendix is going to be mid-way between your belly button and your side, and few inches down from that mid-point. If you jump or press on it and it hurts there, that is likely your appendix in which case you MUST go the ER immediately. That will be your only option. If that isn't exactly where it is hurting, it could just be gas, cramps, or something else...

Go to the ER, they will bill you, just pay them like $5 a month. You can't just live in pain, I did it for a long time, but that's omly because no one knew what was wrong. You have to go because if it is appendicitis, you could get infections and it could burst.
PLEASE go to ER, or at least make an appoitment to see a doctor

Go to the hospital - your health isn't something to be mucked around with. I realise the money is an issue - maybe you could ask for help from someone - surely the hospital would understand?
Good luck - and I hope you get well soon.

If you go to the ER and have appendicitis and no money they can't turn you away. They have to treat you. Not treating it can result in very serious condition. It could rupture and cause peritonitis, which could be fatal.
