interesting?but the question will always be there for those who took performing enhancing drugs to better their performance ,whether they are rascist or not, what he and mcguire and all the rest did was just plain wrong, and they should not be allowed to tarnish the hall of fame, for it will then be know as the hall of shame, could they have done it without it?thats the question,we will never know

I am pretty sure that no one knew McGuire was taking steroids at the time that he broke all of his records, but after it was revealed he was disgraced. With Bonds, though, everyone is fairly positive that he is doing/ has done steroids and that his HR record will be ill-gotten. It has nothing to do with race, they just didn't know McGuire cheated.

It is more for the fact that he cheated to get the records. McGwire also did, but it was not brought out until he had retired. Bonds is living the cheater's life and getting ridiculed by a media that already didn't like his personality before he cheated. Not everything can come back to race and I am sick of it always being brought up as an issue.

Yesterday on ESPN they were talking about why people hate Bonds so much, and a poll showed that i think it was 27% of African American baseball fans say that most people hate Bonds because of his race. I am not sure that this is true, but I seriously think that this is something that should worry people. It certainly looks bad that when the number of African Americans in baseball is so low, and one of the more prominent players is hated so much.

I don't think so. The current record holder is of the same race, so there's no racial reason to keep him from the record. I think there's just a personality clash with Barry and some people in the media.
