They actually have a cure for cancer and AIDS and all that stuff but the government and pharmaceutical companies are just cashing in on all the money that people donate to "research" for a while?

I mean why wouldn't they? Its not like they care about the common person.

Ummm... actually, there really isn't a cure for cancer. “Cancer” is an extremely vague term used to describe any malignant tumor. It encompasses a huge range of specific diseases that have very different causes and effects. Though the general process of cancer formation is the same, the ultimate manifestations are not, making it impossible to slate one treatment as the cure for all cancers. On top of this, it is often a combination of agents that lead to cancer. There is often a genetic predisposition to the disease (as with breast cancer or prostate cancer) as well as an environmental agent (such as UV radiation in skin cancer or certain chemical carcinogens). Age and the general “wearing our” of the genetic material (DNA) is also a common culprit. For these reasons, the best “cure” for cancer is actually prevention and early detection.

So, no, I don't think that at all. I think that there is not enough money going INTO research on cancer, AIDS, etc., but I don't think that money that does go into it is being diverted.

Nope. If there was a cure, one could obtain it in a foreign country where our pharmaceutical companies have no leverage for a large amount of money that only the rich could afford, i.e., stem cells.

If a proven cure existed, someone would make a 'killing' selling it on the black market.
