Put your thinking cap on! Seriously!!
Fill the sink with water move your hand in the water, then move your hand over the sink. Ask yourself, is it easier to run your hand trough thin air or trough water?

Now which one feels denser?

Water is much more dense than air.

All of the air in the atmosphere causes a pressure of 14.7 psi at sea level. You only have to dive down 33 feet in the water to achieve that same pressure.

Think of it this way.

Water is much, much more dense than air ...like 775 times more dense.

Water density is 1,000 grams per litre.
Air is 1.29 grams per litre.
