First off place it under cool not cold water to remove the heat from it. It sounds like a typical 1st degree burn so this will be the best course of action for now, however DO NOT put things such as butter on it for the simple reason that if it does turn into a more serious burn what ever you put on it the Dr.'s have to take off to examine. This is a painful process. If you do not have some go to the local drug store and get some burn gel, this is rather inexpensive and will help to continue to cool the burn and contains antibacterial agents to speed the healing. Other than that about all you can do is keep taking the heat out for the next 24 hours after that it should be good.

Take a glass of water fill it 1/4 way of cold water and the rest with ice cubes. Keep you burned finger in the glass of water for as long as you need too Keep adding ice if necessary. If it still burns add more ice. In Approximately 2-3 hours or sooner you should be ok. When you can remove your finger without a burn feeling you are ok. Take some Ibuphropen and have a good night sleep....

Get a clean cup, fill it with ice water & hold your finger in the cold water until it stops hurting. Sometimes that takes until you go to sleep tonight. If you burned it bad enough to blister & lose skin then you should go to the Doctor so it doesn't get infected. Don't put butter on it, that only makes it worse! Good Luck!!

run cold water on it and try some fresh aloe if you have it. It really helps burns. Also don't put any bandaids on it. Leave it exposed unless it has blistered and the blister has opened. Keep it a clean as posible.
