Find out if...
1. it's in the west of the sky
2. you can see it at dawn AND dusk
3. whether or not it does actually "twinkle"
If the answers to 1 & 2 are yes and it doesn't twinkle then what you've been seeing lately is the planet Venus.
It's a lot brighter than usual the past few weeks or so as it's closer to Earth than usual.
(If a 'star' doesn't twinkle then it's either a planet or a man-made satellite, just so you know for future reference)
:o)

Ignore all that North star stuff - people are just guessing. Also exploding stars - where do these people get such false information.
It is Venus and you should be familiar with it, as it is often very bright and easily visible probably 60% of the time, except that half that time it is visible only in the morning.
Just for information, to show how ignorant are people who add guess answers, the north star or Pole star is about 50 times dimmer than Venus, although easily visible in the north sky (all the time).
PS do you really think that there would not be a name for such a bright object - astronomers have classified hundreds of thousands of stars, most of them far far too dim to see with the naked eye. You are not really thinking, are you?

Venus. You are referring to the planet Venus, seen in the west just after sunset. It is the so-called "evening star" even though it is really a planet. It is so beautiful that the ancient Greeks and Romans named it for their goddess of beauty and love, i.e. Aphrodite or Venus. I think it is beautiful myself as well, don't you agree?

Well, it is not the super nova which is too far away to be seen without a high power, astronomer's telescope. If your star in in the west, and relatively close to the horizon when the sun first goes down it is Venus.

Liam Gallagher. he's an finished fool who pathetically steals John Lennon's photo each and each and every of the time.there isn't any longer some thing incorrect with liking a musician and gaining impression from them, yet i'm effective he each and every each and every now and then believes he's truly John Lennon.I also imagine he's amazingly conceited and his recommendations-set stinks. i'd not call Chuck Berry a douche, he's a rock n roll pioneer who has inspired one of those tremendous form of popular artists. he's a residing legend end of tale.

If it is to the west, about 30 degre from the sun (after it sets, that is) then it is not a star, it is the planet Venus.

Definitely Venus, and visible for a very long time after sunset, here in the tropics.
