You shouldn't need the install disk to setup a new router. Just need to look online and see what the default address is for that particular brand of router. If you do find a need for the CD, the manufacturer will typically send you the disk for the cost of shipping (3-5 dollars).

Purchase internet and plug your router into a modem and it should work. It did for me. If not take your laptop to some place that offers free wifi and download the driver to your laptop as a zip drive.

You do not need the setup disk in most situations.
However, you will then be responsible for all manual implementation of security (especially if you are using wireless), dhcp settings, etc.. Also, if you are using DSL, then it may be a little more difficult in setting up other settings (like PPPoE-type configurations).

you don't need the install disk. they only add unnecessary software that does nothing except slow down a system. you only need to connect your cable or dsl modem to the WAN port of the router and the internal software in the router takes care of the rest.

more than likely, you can put the brand of your router into the yahoo search bar and then look on the site to see if they have downloadable software. be sure to have the model number for the router handy.

just find the ip address of the router and type it into the url bar of your browser. then you can change any router settings you want, type ipconfig into the cmd prompt, then change the last digit to a 1 that will be your router ip address.
ex. 192.168.1.1
change yours (192.168.1.3 >to> 192.168.1.1)
