What is your relationship with your mother? If it is kind and loving, I think that your mother would love the gift of your presence almost more than a present. While either item is a nice gift, which one would she see and use more frequently? The artisan vase would be great to put flowers in that you send her for no occasion at all. A pearl necklace can be worn and will receive a beautiful patina with age, while warming her heart. What ever your decision, give her a beautiful card and let her know how much you love and appreciate her. Hugs and kisses are usually welcomed by a mother too.

If you can afford these things, then just imply ask yourself what she might really like.....and what length of pearls? THAT is a clincher with me...I prefer Opera length..they are expensive, and I haven't a clue as to what her tastes are, or if she is loaded up with jewelry, however the length and hue of the pearl giving it that ultimate accent is worth considering.
The Artisan Crystal Vase is a lovely idea...what would the colours be? Take on board if you will what it would appear to her as.....as the shadows of day to night in a vase are enchanting....is this vase hand made? If you go with the latter of the two, please remember her colour preferences.....

personally I prefer Alexandrite, not lab created, as well Chalcedony...a brillaint blue stone sea blue....soft and powce...i have made many items of jewelry that i was to consign......perhaps i will still do it.

I think you should give her the necklace because she can wear it and show it off, but she cant show off the vase unless somebody goes to her house and sees it so i think that the necklace is better
