Okay, here is the situation, I moved out of my boyfriends appt. he changed the locks the same day i wasn't finished getting my belongings, no i'm not on the lease. i have waited 3 weeks now trying to work around his schedule, and i want to know how to leagaly get my stuff back, he won't return my calls and i don't know how to go about getting him to let me have it back. I have contacted the sheriff's dept and they say i can only sue him, but i don't want to take it to that extreem. can anyone help me with some ideas. please

Unless you want to be arrested for B & E, you will have to sue him. Why is that more extreme that what he did to you?

Goto the local police if your in a city (you should only goto the sheriff if you're outside city limits) and file a theft of property report. This will be a lot easier, cheaper, and quicker to resolve then going to court suing him since he'll know hes going to jail if he doesn't give up your property.
