Were in heck did you get this idea that love is the universal understanding of existence? Why lets just redefine love while were here, therefor creating your own reality why your at it..... you've got a good point, just got there a completely weird way. Ether way love is nothing more then a word/symbol humanity (well western culture) created to sum up the complete whole of all feelings we feel for an entity or individual. Were you got this magical term of universal existences is just bs, sorry mate, but to understand exsistence its going to take more then just love. The fact is anything we feel anything for we love, its just the nature of the term/action of loving, or feeling. Now as long as your feeling for something doesn't in anyway stunt, stangnat, or even destory any other relationship you have then the behavior sure as heck can't be adulterous. Now if your feelings, actions, or attentions are being invested into someone else outside your marriage and you knowingly do this in vindication then your cheating, and therefor commenting an adulterous relaitonship. Espacially if you could invest that effort into your spouse and solve your problems. Don't get this special idea that love is some magical, godly, and incredible thing, it is and it isn't. The fact is man can love a lot of things, that doesn't make it right, takes this human brain in balance with our hearts to make it work.... thats magic...
