okay, im getting them done for the first time for my bfs prom in about 2 weeks. I want them to be done so they match my dress. which is black. i dont want the typical french manicure. I was thinking black tips with design or something on the thumb. But i honestly dont know what would look good. Ideas please??

then there was this girl i saw who had her nails done like a french manicure but the divide between the natural color and white tip was black.i thought that looked cool too

I get my nails done allllll the time, a couple weeks ago I had them do black tips instead of white, then they just put silver glitter to seperate it, they looked really pretty. I acctually might do that again next time. I think anything would go with a black dress to be honest with you. Get a bright color with some black swirls. :)

One thing that is a little different yet still classy is a pink & white, but have the white airbrushed into a design, maybe a 'V' or swirling down the side.
Another popular way to go is do the 'cuban style' maybe with black tips instead of red. Can even class it up further with a band of silver foil or glitter between the natural bottom and the polished top.

Well, I always though that designs on acrylic nails look very cheap. Maybe you can get a french manicure but have them paint a black flower on the thumbs...

i like the idea u have. i've seen ppl with the black tips and i like that. u could also just go for a neutral color or something. since black goes with any color, there really isn't a bad color for u to choose. u might want to go with a light pink and rhinestones or something. but the black tips would definetly work.

Yuck!
Go for either a nice french manicure or a soft pastel. Or something to match your corsage. Black would just look to awful!

I think the black between the white is a cute idea, and me and my friend got our done with a silver stripe between the nude and the black, and glitter over all of it, we got it dont just for kicks though. I really thought it was cute!!

two things
1 get white (french manicure style) insides and black tips
2 get black inside and drak gray on the tips or instead of the dark gray you could get a diff color like one of the other colors that your wearing

i think that you have a great idea.. the black tips with a design i think that would be the best for your dress.
