I know I have work related stress and it's not that easy just to go out and find another job especially one that pays as well as my current job. I need to know how I can file disability for work related stress. Do I go to a doctor first for medical proof or talk to Huaman resources? What I really need to is to be out of this enviroment for a few months but as a single mom I can't afford to take unpaid time off but I seriously have an anxiety attack every morning before I come in to work.

I was in this same situation a few years ago. The first thing I did was went and saw my doctor. I explained to her what was going on (of course I was in tears the entire time) She took me out of work for a few weeks. My company offered short term disability, so I collected. I would ask my HR department if they offer Aflac. Then go see your doc and get the necessary paperwork.
Good luck...I know this can be rough.

First, you must file a worker's comp claim with HR. You'll be sent to a health care provider chosen by the company, unless you have designated a provider in advance. The provider will evaluate your stress claim.

60% or more of your stress must be demonstrably job-related; as a single mother under financial duress, that may be difficult to prove. Stress claims are investigated very thoroughly because they are rife with fraud, and a fraudulent claim can get you in big trouble. So be real sure before you do this that you are telling the truth. You do realize that you won't be paid your full salary if you are on disability leave, correct?

You should just consider finding a new job. Getting another job after being on disability for several months isn't going to be easy, either.

Good luck.

for my section, if i become HR or the coverage agency, i does no longer have self assurance this tale. "Suicidal" means that in case you are not getting scientific care at modern-day, then you definately might kill your self. in case you truly have been suicidal, then you definately does no longer have been waiting to attend that long to work out a physician. in the journey that your commonly used physician theory you have been suicidal and can desire to no longer do something, then your commonly used physician might have sent you to the wellbeing facility or someplace else which you will locate a psychiatrist at modern-day. i does no longer terminate you for taking unapproved time without work. i might confirm which you had lied approximately it, and terminate you for that reason. i do no longer think of that lacking their unspoken July 17 time cut back with the aid of sometime is a valid reason to terminate you. I do think of that claiming which you mandatory to go away paintings simply by fact of being "suicidal" whilst the area become no longer an pressing adequate emergency for any of the docs in contact (the two your physician or the psychological wellbeing specialists) to deliver you somebody which you would be able to desire to get considered at modern-day (like the emergency room) might desire to be made right into a reason to terminate you.
