My intercom works fine, I hear when people buzz me and I can talk to them. But when I go to "buzz them up" the buzz sounds really weak and sporradic like there's a loose connection or something.
I will report it to my real estate agent but I was wondering how big the job is and how likely the owner would be to fix it. Would it involve finding the wires that run from my top floor apartment down to the foyer door? It seems like a huge job to me but I really want it working again.

I am aware that it's not the real estate agent's RESPONSIBILITY to fix the problem. The process with my agent is to put in a maintenance request, which they pass on to the owner who then decides if they would like to fix it.
There also is no onsite handyman.

It sounds like it would be a problem with the button you are pushing to buzz people in. Since the other functions are working. So it would only require a repair to the box in your apartment or at the door. Should be easy? It is the landlords job if you rent. You're responsible if you own, unless you have a warranty.

The real estate agent is not responsible for repairs to the apartment. You should have a repairman on site or a property manager to handle repairs.

If it is the bottom bell, does everyone have this problem, or is it just yours that has the problem? If it is just yours, then you could have a bad button that has the contacts carboned over and not making good contact. This would give you a weak signal down at the bottom bell. good luck

If you can buzz someone up, call the odd noise a "feature" and add it to the list of peculiar things about your home that make it yours. If it doesn't work, go through the channels to get it addressed- from your brief description, it doesn't sound very involved.

Best of luck.
