I live in a small town in Missouri and I have been acting since I was around four (I am fourteen now) In childrens' productions at our church and have landed several leads in thoses plays. Lately I have been taking up theatre and have done serveal high school level plays at a High School with a very good drama department and one at another local theatre called Stainted Glass. Three plays is alot for one year for me while doing church productions like playing Mary in the adult progam and directing the childrens at Christmas time and played Rebekah in a Mother's Day program. I have decied I want to take up film acting. My parents think it is unreasonable dream, but I know I have the skill enough to do it. But since I live in a small town on the outskirts of Joplin there are no audtions for major movies. Are there websites that will tell you where you can audtion for certin movies or if you can do them but tape. I would be glad if someone will answer me. Thank you for reading this. Stella

There is a website called InstantCast.com which has millions of opportunities in a lot of different parts of the world to act, dance, sing, etc. You can enter in where you live and it will tell you all the auditions available in that area. They're mostly small parts, but they will get you ahead in your acting career! I also love acting, and I have looked at the website before. Hopefully it'll be useful to you.

Go to actorsaccess.com which is your link to Breakdown Services... the lists of auditions that agents get every morning. You have to sign up, but it's free to see what's available AND it's updated constantly. You do have to pay if you want to submit yourself for anything, but at least you can actually look before you pay. The other sites you have to pay no matter if there's anything for you or not and in your location there may not ever be anything available...

If acting is something you really want to do, you'll have to present it to your parents in the most mature way possible. Do a lot of research, but understand that it does take a huge commitment of both time and money to be able to do this and it may not be possible for your family right now. If you do well in school, you may be able to get a scholarship to go to college somewhere like Los Angeles or NY or even Illinois, Texas, Georgia or some other states where they have a lot of filming that goes on. Then you can audition for projects while you're going to school :-)
