For the longest time I had perfect skin...then at about 16 1/2 it overnight went to hell in a handbasket. I'm 17 1/2 now and I'm just wondering....when will it be over? I'm a male, on the more mature side for my age. I know it varies a bit, but overall?

I have generally good skin...no skin issues. Just oily. I wouldn't say I have acne, but maybe borderline mild acne-ish.

And everyone in my family, particularly the women, has really good skin.

try 100%aloe vera gel..dabbed directly on a pimple..it will dry it almost overnight.
once you start your twenties..your homones..change..and you skin will clear...
keep your face washed 2-3 yimes a day....
remember to wash your face after you use hair conditioner..it is the number one culprit behind teenage acne..and no one ever mentions it.
use a pure soap..like old fashioned ivory bar soap..it's excellent...because it leaves no irritating residue on your skin.
also eat a healthy diet...
drink water...
no soda..fast foods or sugar.

For alot of people this problem doesn't go away. But as your skin matures it starts to not get as bad. My sister is 19 and she still has some breakouts but they aren't as bad. Overall you may never have perfect skin but it will get better.

i don't know but I'm 22 and I still get the occasional breakout. I'm going to start using proactive because most of my friends use it and swear it works. All I know is that it's not to uncommon for adults to have acne issues... just wash your face and don't touch it.

It usually lasts until the age of 21 for boys. I suggest you go see a dermatologist before your skin gets any worse.

It doesn't just go away. Of course it comes back. You just have to treat it well. Don't use harsh chemicals and natural things like just water is good enough !

In my case, 45. It didn't go away 'til I stopped eating cheeseburgers and started taking cholesterol medication (Advicor).
